The Challenge Every day, team members frustrate their peers. Unfortunately a lack of recognition of this frustration and inability to respond proactively cost the team in terms of employee output, customer satisfaction, loyalty and ultimately – productivity and profitability. Recent research shows this cost to be well over $300 billion annually for employee productivity alone. Part of the challenge is that terms such as ‘teamwork’, are open to different interpretations based on the unique way we see the world around us.
The Solution We have found that Influence is built and maintained very differently with different types of individuals. When you utilize an incorrect influence strategy, you create the opposite of influence; you frustrate those you seek to influence. This frustration will eventually develop into a negative filter through which every action a team member takes is “misinterpreted”.
